What You'll Do

Psychiatric/Mental Health RNs at our inpatient hospital in Minneapolis are responsible for managing the care of adolescent patients and/or young adult patients experiencing psychiatric/mental health disorders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering psychosocial, physical, and behavioral assessments related to specific conditions and providing individualized interventions based on these assessments
  • Monitoring patients' daily functioning and assisting in mental health symptom management
  • Communicating with patients and families using curiosity, compassion, and active listening
  • Providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient's developmental age and to the patient's and family's diversity
  • Tracking and sharing confidential medical and psychiatric information, verbally and in written documentation
  • Administering medications and performing interventions such as including lab draws, EKG, UDS, Genesight, and HcG testing

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree (BSN is preferred, current licensure as an RN with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing is required.)
  • A purposeful, results-oriented critical thinker who can make fast, safe judgment calls in stressful situations
  • Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing, and communicating, in both verbal and written format
  • Facility with basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products and HER
  • Competency in the safe use of restraints and seclusion and effective deescalation through collaborative problem-solving and trauma-informed practices
  • A compassionate, patient-first mindset that supports you to reach the highest standards in delivery of care

Compensation Range: $37.92 to $58.68 depending on education and experience

32 hours a week with AM / PM shift rotation with every other weekend
