Duration: 3 months
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday
Hours: Between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM; hours vary based on staffing needs

This is a float position supporting PSC locations throughout the Portland metro area, including Portland, Gresham, and as far south as Tualatin. Reliable transportation is required to travel between assigned locations.
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist II will perform blood draws and specimen collection at multiple PSC locations throughout the Portland metro area. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on phlebotomy experience with both pediatric and geriatric patients, as well as experience with specimen processing and patient registration. Pediatric drawing experience is particularly important because the Portland locations will see a higher volume of pediatric patients. The successful candidate must be comfortable adapting to different PSC locations, staffing needs, patient populations, and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and blood collection on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Demonstrate strong pediatric and geriatric blood-drawing skills.
Collect and properly handle specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
Perform specimen processing as required.
Label and process specimens accurately to ensure specimen integrity.
Register patients as they arrive at the PSC.
Verify patient information and required documentation for accuracy.
Provide professional and courteous service to patients throughout the collection process.
Follow established laboratory, safety, and compliance procedures.
Maintain accurate patient and specimen records.
Adapt to varying workflows and staffing needs across multiple PSC locations.
Float between Portland-area PSC locations as assigned.
Perform other related phlebotomy and laboratory duties as required.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Strong hands-on phlebotomy/venipuncture experience.
Experience performing blood draws on pediatric and geriatric patients.
Ability to perform venipuncture accurately and efficiently.
Specimen processing experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced PSC environment.
Ability and willingness to float between multiple locations.
Reliable transportation is required for this float position.
Must successfully complete the required color vision screening.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen accuracy and patient safety.
Preferred Qualifications
Pediatric phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with both pediatric and geriatric patient populations.
Previous PSC or laboratory experience.
Patient registration experience.
Experience working independently in multiple locations.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing staffing and workflow requirements.
