What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a skilled and highly-motivated Electrical/Electronics Design Engineer to join ourConnectivityteamto work on next-gen self-driving vehicles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of microcontroller-based system design, power management, and high-speed digital interfaces, coupled with expertise in developing vehicle electronic platforms. What You'll Do
- Design and optimize power delivery systems including buck/boost converters, LDOs, PMICs, and power sequencing for multi-rail embedded platforms
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout design, optimizing for electrical performance, thermal management, manufacturing constraints, and cost
- Conduct board bring-up, validation, troubleshooting, system integration, manufacturing test support, and field return failure analysis
- Drive firmware/hardware co-design and embedded systems integration during bring-up and validation phases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept design through full design cycles
- Transition the electrical system design, including power management, microcontroller, and communication interfaces to high-volume production
- Work with and manage suppliers and manufacturing partners including overseas build support
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electronics Engineering with 5+ years of relevant work experience in digital/analog electronic designs (minimum 3+ years), or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging, validation, and manufacturing support; proficient with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, frequency generators, and other bench instrumentation
- Experience with digital and memory interfaces (UART, CAN, SPI, I2C, USB, JTAG, Ethernet, PCIe, SDIO, LPDDR3/4, etc.), and signal integrity analysis
- Proficiency with PCB design tool such as Altium or Cadence
- Experience with power supply design including DC-DC converters (buck, boost, buck-boost), LDOs, power sequencing, thermal derating, and load transient analysis
- Familiarity with PCB stack-up, SMT process, in-circuit tests, manufacturing tests and designing for DFM/DFT
- Problem solver with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with ARM-based processors, SoC/ASIC integration, high-speed PCB design, or mixed-signal systems is a plus
- Experience with wireless (LTE/WiFi/BT/GNSS) product or system development is a plus

Expected Compensation
$152,000 - $288,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
