Inova Children's and Inova Schar Cancer Institute are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chief of Pediatric Neuro-oncology to join our Inova Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children's health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Inova Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders is home to a comprehensive neuro-oncology program, including complex neuro-imaging, brain and spinal surgery, pediatric palliative care, radiation oncology and proton beam. Our collaborative model includes dedicated nurse navigators, child life specialists, art and music therapy, social workers, and therapists as well as the support and integration of the Inova Life with Cancer program. Your role includes: Deliver coordinated, multispecialty care to patients with brain tumors and other neurologic oncologic conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric oncology care with a team that includes pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuro-radiology, clinical research, genetic counseling, pediatric palliative care, nutrition, and psychosocial support. Participate in the inpatient care team Provide clinical teaching and in-service education to medical students, residents, and fellows. Engage in pediatric oncology clinical research projects and studies, including translational efforts. Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric neuro-oncology care with a team that includes pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuro-radiology, clinical research, genetic counseling, pediatric palliative care, nutrition, and psychosocial support. Inova Chlildren's Cancer and Blood Disorders includes 9 experienced Pediatric Hematology-Oncology physiciansand 9 advanced practice providers who diagnose, manage, and treat all forms of childhood cancers, blood disorders, and bone marrow failure syndromes. Children have access to clinical trials through Children's Oncology Group as well as other multicenter, Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials. About Inova Children's Inova L.J. Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off and paid parental leave Chief, Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Position Details: Board Certified /Board Eligible in Pediatric and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with additional training or clinical expertise in neuro-oncology. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board Certification:Board eligible or board certifiedin Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Experience: successful completion of pediatric residency program and successful completion of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship. Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
