Are you passionate about helping patients and making a difference in their healthcare experience? Lee Health is seeking Customer Service Representatives to support our Lee Physician Group medical offices and Outpatient Rehabilitation locations throughout Southwest Florida.

Please note: This posting is for ALL Customer Service Representative opportunities within Lee Health, across ALL Lee Physician Group Medical Office locations and ALL Outpatient Rehabilitation locations. Specific department, location, schedule, and assignment will be determined based on organizational needs and candidate qualifications.

Pay
  • All external candidates will start at $20.00 per hour.
  • Internal Lee Health candidates will be considered according to applicable internal compensation guidelines.
What You'll Do

As a Customer Service Representative, you may support patients and clinical teams in a variety of ambulatory healthcare settings. Responsibilities may include:

  • Greet and assist patients in a professional, welcoming manner.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Check patients in and out and ensure registration information is accurate.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Collect applicable payments and provide receipts.
  • Answer phones and respond to patient questions.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and coworkers.
  • Assist with other front-office and administrative responsibilities based on the needs of the assigned location.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Customer service experience required; healthcare or medical office experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn healthcare technology and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.

The Customer Service Representative position is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a team based environment for all aspects of patient business activity within the Practice/Department. Responsibilities include handling telephones, patient appointment scheduling, patient check-in, insurance verification, authorization, pre-certifications, referrals, and posting charges, initial collections, preparing well-coded and accurate billing and maintenance of medical records. Depending on the specific Practice/Department needs, this position may be required to manage the business services for workers compensation, commercial carriers, employee health and corporate accounts. Late hours, holidays and weekends may be required. Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor of the department.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED Required.

Experience: Less than 1 Year Clerical/Administrative required. Insurance/Customer Service preferred.

Certification:BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required in Employee Health and may also be required at other locations within 90 days of hire.

License: N/A

Other: Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, IT/computer proficient, basic math, knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing helpful.
