Description
Patient Business Services Lead the delivery of operational reporting and analytics for UCLA Health's end-to-end revenue cycle, which supports billions in annual revenue and operations. As the Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle Data & Analytics, you will oversee reporting accuracy, consistency, and timeliness while providing analyses that support operational decision-making and performance improvement. This role leads a team responsible for data compilation, analysis, and reporting and partners with revenue cycle operations, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to strengthen performance monitoring, data integrity, and reporting effectiveness. In this role, you will:
* Manage the development and distribution of recurring and ad hoc revenue cycle reports, dashboards, scorecards, and key performance indicator reporting across revenue cycle functions.
* Conduct analyses to identify trends, variances, performance issues, denials, billing concerns, and workflow inefficiencies and provide data insights that support operational decision-making.
* Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting outputs by validating data integrity, resolving discrepancies, maintaining reporting logic and data-source documentation, and supporting consistent application of metrics and KPIs.
* Support root cause analysis and track performance improvement initiatives to identify issues, monitor progress, and report results.
* Partner with revenue cycle operations teams to understand reporting needs, provide guidance on interpretation of reports and data outputs, and communicate findings clearly to operational and leadership teams.
* Collaborate with Information Technology and other departments to support reporting enhancements, system improvements, and resolution of data or reporting issues.
* Recruit, train, mentor, and develop analysts and supporting staff through work assignment, performance evaluations, quality oversight, and professional development while promoting accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Salary Range:
$98,200 to $214,600 annually
Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree in data analytics, healthcare administration, information systems, or a related field.
* Five or more years of experience in hospital-based revenue cycle reporting, data, and/or analytics.
* Three or more years of experience leading teams responsible for delivering analysis and reporting within revenue cycle programs.
* Epic certification.
* Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, concepts, policies, and their impact throughout the organization.
* Extensive experience using reporting and business intelligence tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret complex data and systems.
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex revenue cycle information.
* Strong knowledge of metrics, analytics, and data synthesis in healthcare revenue management.
* Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives and support measurable financial improvements.
* Demonstrated familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic. Preferred
* Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, or business.
* HFMA certification.
* Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
* Strong knowledge of payer requirements and reimbursement methodologies.
* Familiarity with AI tools and solutions that support efficient analytics and reporting functions.
