What to Expect
We are looking for a Reliability Engineer with strongelectro-mechanicalexpertiseto join ourvehicle systemsreliability team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing reliability into our groundbreakingautomotivevision hardware systems, including camera cleaning mechanisms, condensation management, pneumatic systems, and supporting enclosures, that are critical toautonomy,sensor availability, andvehicle performance. You will follow the reliability lifecycle of these multi-domain systems from concept through design, development, manufacturing, and field operation, designing-in and confirming exceptional reliability at every stage. These systems operate at the intersection of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and fluid domains, and you must be comfortable reasoning across all of them. This role is highly engaging and cross-functional. You will collaborate with mechanical design, optical engineering, thermal engineering, controls and software, and manufacturing teams to understand emerging architectures and identify reliability risks early. You will be responsible for defining appropriate stress conditions, spanning temperature, humidity, solar load, vibration, chemical exposure, and more, and creating test plans to validate reliability under real-world and accelerated conditions. You will provide reliability analyses and apply first-principles engineering knowledge to drive design improvements. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world, and you must be self-motivated with the desire to push boundaries. If you have strong multi-domain technical fundamentals, excellent problem-solving skills, and a genuine fascination for engineering, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the cutting-edge technology of Tesla's products and shape the future.
