Education Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional accounting certifications or continuing education are beneficial.


Experience Requirements



  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience using accounting software, spreadsheets, and enterprise financial systems.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive financial information.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of blended experience handling in-house payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with advanced payroll/HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Workday, Paycom) and strong Microsoft Excel capabilities (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Analytical Math Skills: Strong attention to detail for managing complex data sets, tax calculations, and spreadsheets


Job Duties


  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including deductions and adjustments
  • Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and payroll documentation
  • Review timecards and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Prepare payroll reports and support labor cost analysis
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment and changes
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits questions
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment communications and materials
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and maintain vendor records
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, and employment regulations
  • Maintain confidential employee and benefits records
  • Coordinate company events and vendor logistics
  • Track and organize purchase orders and related documentation


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, or corporate finance is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting software is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax preparation, compliance, or internal controls is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate professionalism, analytical thinking, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are well positioned for success as a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to review detailed financial documents and perform accurate data analysis.
  • Ability to occasionally lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform normal office duties while maintaining productivity and attention to detail throughout the workday.
