Salary Range: $50,000 - $62,000 annually

The Opportunity

RCG is seeking a Customer Support - Hardware Installation Technician - Level I to provide Customer Service (CS) Field Support for our government customer. This position will support hardware installation, network configuration, site assessments, technical documentation, and end-user support. The successful candidate will work remotely but must be available to report on-site at a customer-designated location as required to perform installations, site surveys, testing, and other field-support activities.

What You'll Do



  • Conduct site surveys to assess and document existing network configurations and user requirements.
  • Assist with the design and optimization of network topologies.
  • Analyze technical requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages (TDPs).
  • Develop and coordinate hardware installation schedules.
  • Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at customer sites.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports.
  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install and configure network hardware.
  • Test installed equipment and troubleshoot basic hardware and connectivity issues.
  • Train site personnel on the proper use and operation of installed hardware.
  • Build specialized interconnecting cables as required.
  • Maintain accurate technical and installation documentation.



What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of technical customer support experience.
  • Experience installing, configuring, or supporting computer hardware, network equipment, communications devices, and peripherals.
  • Basic knowledge of network configurations and network hardware.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and document technical and user requirements.
  • Ability to read, develop, or maintain technical drawings and installation documentation.
  • Basic hardware and network troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to end users.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate installation activities and schedules.
  • Available to report on-site at a customer-designated location as required.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Public Trust.



Work Environment

This position is primarily remote; however, the selected candidate must be available to report on-site at a customer-designated location as required to support site surveys, hardware installations, testing, troubleshooting, and other field-support activities.
