Overview:
MTSI is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to support fast-paced flight test needs for the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) in Tucson, Arizona.This technical professional will support airtoair flight test programs as an operational/developmental test representative, flight test engineer, and project manager.AATC is drives innovative solutions to modernize a portfolio of combat systems and leads rapid modernization, and this role provides handson technical leadership across airtoair sensors, weapons, data links, and emerging combat systems.The Project Manager will work in close collaboaration with the AATC Flight Test Directors to enable the continued combat capability of the F-16.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Plan and execute Air to Air system activities aligned with AATC F-16test objectives
- Coordinate engagement with partners, academia, and military organizations as they become relevant to the Air to Air systems team within the AATC F-16 CTF
- Report project status, operational activities, and outcomes to government and MTSI leadership.
- Serve as a representative of the Government F-16 Air to Air Systems Test Director for all programs of interest, ensuring alignment and information flow internal and external to the team
- Provide technical and project management support for airtoair flight test programs
- Lead Air to Air requirements development, test planning, software candidate management, and configuration control
- Coordinate test infrastructure, scheduling, and execution
- Perform data management, data analysis, and solution development
- Interface with USAF Test Enterprises and contribute to sensors, weaspons, open architecture and data link development to enhance F-16 capabilities.
- Research emerging technologies and advise government personnel on advancements in airtoair systems
- Support National Guard Bureau (NGB) with requirements generation, verification, and validation
- Collaborate with AATC leadership, system program offices, and industry partners on COTS and developmental improvements
- Guide conceptual and technical architecture design for software and hardware systems
- Contribute to cradletograve development of advanced combat systems
- Work effectively within crossfunctional teams and maintain strong customer relationships
- Help define program goals, roadmaps, milestones, and track progress against established plans.
- Coordinate and simultaneously oversee multiple related projects
- Utilize data management, tracking, and analytical techniques to support program decisions; must be proficient with tools such as Microsoft Office.
- Participate in Concept Reviews and other programrelevant meetings.
- Collaborate closely with test directors, systems engineers, program managers, operators, and other stakeholders to align emerging technology solutions with Air Reserve Component requirements.
- Translate complex project findings into clear, actionable recommendations for military leadership.
- Provide direct support to AATC in the development of advanced systems from concept through execution, operating within a highenergy, independent environment alongside multidisciplinary teams composed of industry, government, and military experts (engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots, and aircrew).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of operational/developmental test, software testing, or practical engineering experience
- Working knowledge of radar theory
- Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask
- Demonstrated team leadership and customer interface skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
- Motivated, selfdriven, and comfortable in highenergy independent work environment
Desired Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, engineering, or military flight test
- Graduation from USAF Test Pilot School (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with AESA radars, AIM120 / AIM9, aircraft data links, infrared phenomenology, and open mission systems
- Experience with Special Access Programs
- Knowledge of Aircraft Ethernet Bus and MILSTD1553
Education Requirements:
- B.S. in engineering (astronautical, aeronautical, electrical, computer, mechanical, systems) or computer science
- M.S. in a technical discipline preferred
Clearance Requirements:
- Current Secret Clearance
- Eligible for Top Secret/SCI
- Current TS/SCI highly desired
Travel Requirements:
Travel is expected approximately every month with periodic, mostly intraweek trips to support AATC projects. Up to 25% travel, depending on program workload and project location.
