In the role of Human Resources Representative, we'll count on you to:

Have a passion for working with people and a focus on employee engagement while supporting approximately 200 employees across the Michigan Area.

Assist local area offices and the corporate HR department with a variety of HR-related activities.

Conduct engaging new hire orientations, assist with the completion of new hire paperwork and verify I-9 documentation.

Create employment requisitions, coordinate interview schedules, assist with documentation of annual recruiting plans and coordinate immigration information with Immigration.

Partner with the area to coordinate career fairs and support the Internship Program.

Conduct offboarding activities and process terminations.

Use corporate systems to maintain employee records and process personnel transactions.

Provide excellent HR customer service for employee and manager requests and questions related to company policies, procedures, benefits, hiring and other HR-related topics.

Provide support for HR reporting, data analysis and audits.

Demonstrate knowledge of HDR policies, procedures and benefit programs.

Assist employees with benefit-related questions of moderate complexity and refer complex questions to Corporate Benefits.

Schedule and coordinate interviews, presentations, meetings and conference calls.

Complete administrative functions such as record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entries, drafting correspondence and sending emails.

Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, records and sensitive employee information.

Assist with special projects.

Must be able to work in the Ann Arbor office to support managers and employees, with occasional travel to East Lansing and Detroit offices as needed.

Ability to travel approximately three times a year for team building, training and conferences.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.

Minimum 1 year of transferable administrative and people-focused experience preferred.

Previous experience supporting employees, customers, students, volunteers or teams in a service-oriented environment preferred.

Local candidates preferred.

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees and management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word and Excel or similar programs
  • Basic understanding of business activities
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
