Expiring Credentialing Specialist

Position Summary

Fortis Healthcare Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Expiring Credentialing Specialist to join our compliance team. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining ongoing compliance for healthcare professionals currently on assignment by tracking upcoming expirations, communicating requirements, and ensuring documentation is completed on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor expiring licenses, certifications, health records, screenings, and other compliance documents.
  • Proactively notify healthcare professionals of upcoming requirements and follow up until completed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records in internal systems.
  • Coordinate renewals, drug screens, immunizations, background checks, and other required compliance items.
  • Communicate with healthcare professionals, internal teams, vendors, and clients regarding outstanding requirements.
  • Identify and escalate urgent compliance issues that could impact an employee's ability to continue working.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Support assignment extensions by ensuring credentials remain current through the full assignment period.
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service while managing multiple deadlines and a high-volume workload.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous credentialing, compliance, healthcare staffing, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to professionally hold individuals accountable to deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills; 40-50 WPM typing preferred.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
