Job Summary

The Field Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of commercial physical security and related systems integration projects, with a primary focus on data center environments. This role oversees installation, programming, system startup, testing, certification, customer training, subcontractor coordination, and field teams while ensuring projects are completed within contractual scope, budget, schedule, quality, and code requirements. The position serves as a key technical and customer-facing resource, proactively identifying project risks, resolving field issues, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership, commercial physical security integration experience, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple customers and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities




  • Manage overall site activities and assigned projects to ensure successful completion within contractual scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.



  • Develop and implement project installation plans and job procedures in coordination with project support teams.



  • Supervise, mentor, and direct Project Specialists, Installers, technicians, and subcontractors in the field.



  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, verify work quality, and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.



  • Manage a data center site supporting approximately 4-12 customers.



  • Coordinate project activities and recommend appropriate changes in scope, scheduling, or execution when necessary.



  • Identify potential project risks and support the development and implementation of strategies to minimize schedule, cost, and operational impacts.



  • Ensure installations comply with applicable national and local codes, project requirements, and established quality standards.



  • Install, program, test, troubleshoot, repair, and service physical security, fire alarm, life safety, and/or building automation systems as required.



  • Provide technical support and system training to customers.



  • Troubleshoot complex field issues and implement effective technical and operational solutions.



  • Maintain effective communication with customers, project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.



  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accurate project documentation.



  • Perform additional duties as assigned.




Job Requirements




  • 5-7 years of relevant field service, systems integration, project management, installation, or related experience.



  • Commercial physical security integration experience strongly preferred.



  • Previous experience supporting or managing projects in data center environments strongly preferred.



  • Strong field supervision and team leadership experience.



  • Experience with security, fire alarm, life safety, and/or building automation systems.



  • Technical experience with Genetec, Axis, Hanwha, BioConnect, and/or Alcatraz systems preferred.



  • Product-specific or industry-specific certifications and licenses preferred, including certifications related to Genetec, Axis, Software House, Lenel, Avigilon, AMAG, Milestone, ONSSI, or similar platforms.



  • Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to use common hand and power tools.



  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.



  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.



  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.



  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.



  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and effectively manage responsibilities with limited supervision.



  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment.



  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to project sites.



  • College degree, trade school education, or equivalent relevant experience.

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • Onsite schedule required five days per week.



  • Typical workweek is approximately 50 hours.



  • Travel is primarily limited to the Phoenix metropolitan area.



  • Frequent travel to local project and job sites is required.



  • Minimal overnight travel is expected.
