Job Overview

The Sr. Manager, Training, Operational Excellence & Capability Development is responsible for oversight of training programs, implementation, capability building, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence. This role collaborates with internal and external teammates, cross-functional business partners, and senior leaders to achieve targeted metrics, advance organizational capabilities, leverage industry best practices, and apply technological solutions that drive quality, food safety, compliance, productivity, and operational performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison and resource for frontline leaders, Supply Chain Support staff, Operational Quality Assurance Managers, Sales Division Managers, and Logistics Managers.
  • Set the strategy for and manage end-to-end Technical Services and Manufacturing training programs, including onboarding, operational training, leadership development, certification programs, and the Teammate Experience Program.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Capability Building strategy that strengthens technical proficiency, quality culture, food safety knowledge, and operational excellence capabilities.
  • Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and implement learning pathways, succession readiness plans, and targeted development programs.
  • Evaluate operational trends, compliance requirements, and business needs to provide strategic recommendations and process improvement action plans.
  • Influence leaders to adopt technological solutions supporting Smart Factory initiatives and operational excellence objectives.
  • Lead a portfolio of Continuous Improvement projects focused on quality, food safety, productivity, efficiency, cost reduction, process optimization, and risk reduction.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and problem-solving methodologies to deliver measurable business results.
  • Facilitate cross-functional improvement teams and ensure project sustainability through KPI monitoring and accountability.
  • Develop long-range plans that align business processes, regulatory compliance, capability development, and training strategies.
  • Partner with Organizational Capability leaders to implement best practices in adult learning, applied learning, and talent development.
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to measure training effectiveness, capability growth, compliance performance, and continuous improvement outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor leaders and frontline teammates to strengthen leadership capabilities and a culture of continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience with a history of driving performance, capability development, and process improvement results.
  • Strong ability to coach, teach, train, mentor, and develop leaders and teammates.
  • Experience leading large-scale capability building, and training initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional Continuous Improvement projects and deliver measurable business results.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, Change Management, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Advanced time management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to tailor communication based on audience and facilitate meetings, workshops, and training events.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee business improvement projects and share best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, learning management systems, training applications, and operational reporting tools.
  • Understanding of learning needs assessment, instructional design, adult learning principles, and evaluation methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge acquired through 3 to 5 years work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Management, Communications, Training & Development, Organizational Capability, Engineering, Sciences
  • Lean Six Sigma Principles, Project Management experience
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • Training Experience; Firsthand experience with adult learning, curriculum, and training module development

Work Environment

Work environment will vary, including but not limited to exposure to weather conditions, manufacturning and warehousing facilities without temperature controlled areas.
