Job Description

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, level two tool room techs complete presetting operations, which requires a basic understanding of presetting procedures using specific presetting machines, and an intermediate knowledge of tool geometry and specifications which might include identifying tool numbers and gauge lengths. In addition to tool presetting competencies such as using heat shrink fit machines to set tool lengths to critical dimensions, they will demonstrate a basic understanding and ability to perform tool crib functions such as maintaining logs and inventories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform tooling presetting operations using designated presetting equipment.
  • Identify tool numbers, gauge lengths, and tooling specifications to ensure setup accuracy.
  • Operate heat shrink fit machines and related tooling equipment.
  • Verify tooling dimensions and critical length requirements prior to release to production.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, tool logs, and tooling documentation.
  • Assist with inventory audits and replenishment activities.
  • Troubleshoot minor presetting and tooling issues.
  • Support production requirements by ensuring tooling is prepared and available when needed.
  • Follow all quality, safety, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of tool crib, tooling, machining, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with tool presetting equipment.
  • Intermediate understanding of cutting tool geometry and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret tooling documentation and tool lists.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with heat shrink tooling systems.
  • Familiarity with tooling inventory software and manufacturing systems.
  • Previous CNC manufacturing support experience.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.50 to $29.50 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
