Wage: $18.25/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Forklift Operator for a company in Darien, WI. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Position Summary

We are seeking a safety-focused and dependable Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations, inventory management, and customer order fulfillment. This role is responsible for operating forklifts, loading and unloading shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring products are received, stored, and shipped efficiently. The ideal candidate has warehouse experience, forklift operation skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
Forklift Operation

  • Safely operate forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, and order pickers, to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Transport raw materials, finished goods, pallets, and packaging materials to designated warehouse and production areas.
  • Stack, organize, and store materials while maximizing warehouse space and maintaining accessibility.
  • Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers safely and efficiently.
  • Verify shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure products are properly secured and packaged for transportation.
  • Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and on schedule.

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory through proper storage, stock rotation, and material movement.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock replenishment activities.
  • Track inventory transactions and report discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures and inventory management practices.

Order Fulfillment

  • Pick, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately based on shipping requirements.
  • Verify product quantities, item numbers, and order specifications before shipment.
  • Ensure orders are completed efficiently to meet customer delivery schedules and company performance goals.

Quality & Safety

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, shortages, or quality concerns.
  • Follow OSHA, company, and warehouse safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic and equipment movement within the facility.
  • Immediately report safety hazards, damaged products, or inventory discrepancies.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Complete shipping logs, receiving records, inventory transactions, and equipment inspection reports.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), scanners, or ERP systems to track inventory and shipments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support compliance and operational efficiency.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with warehouse personnel, production teams, shipping coordinators, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Communicate material shortages, shipment delays, and inventory concerns proactively.
  • Support cross-functional operations to meet business and customer needs.

Housekeeping & Organization

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Follow 5S and warehouse housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure aisles, workstations, and storage areas remain clear and accessible.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, shipping & receiving, distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior forklift operation experience required; forklift certification preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts.
  • Experience with inventory management and material handling processes.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with scanners, warehouse systems, or shipping software preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents, work instructions, and inventory records.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
