We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Aviation International Captain within our Aviation group based in Houston, Texas. The Senior Aviation International Captain is responsible for conducting safe, efficient domestic and international flight operations and supporting the continued development of flight crew members. Depending on the assignment, this role serves as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC), upholding the highest standards of safety, passenger service, and professionalism. The successful candidate fosters a positive team environment through effective crew resource management, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and an enterprise-focused mindset. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Promote the Occidental safety culture while delivering the highest level of customer service.
- Conduct all duties in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Aircraft Flight Manual and Certificate of Airworthiness requirements, company policies and procedures, and standard aviation operating practices.
- Serve as PIC or SIC, as assigned, for domestic and international flight operations; exercise appropriate operational authority and judgment to ensure safe flight execution.
- Lead international trip planning and ensure timely, accurate, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of international operations, including applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements, ICAO Annexes, navigation procedures, and operational considerations necessary for safe and effective flight operations.
- Maintain expert knowledge of assigned aircraft types, including aircraft systems and performance, applicable regulations, operating and navigation procedures, and company policies and procedures.
- Verify that assigned aircraft are airworthy and that required regulatory documentation, publications, and operational materials are current and on board.
- Ensure compliance with applicable crew duty and flight-time limitations.
- Conduct thorough preflight and post-flight activities, including crew briefings, operational risk assessment, and coordination with maintenance and other support functions, as required.
- Maintain discretion when handling sensitive or confidential company information.
- Build positive, collaborative, and professional relationships with regulatory agencies, industry partners, and the aviation community.
- Collaborate with Aviation team members to identify and implement continuous-improvement opportunities that support safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Actively support the Occidental Safety Management System (SMS), including risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion.
- Recommend departmental procedures and standards that maximize the safety of employees, passengers, and equipment.
- Prepare and implement tactical plans, as requested and/or approved by the Director of Aviation.
- Stay current on industry developments and recommend policies, equipment, and techniques that support safe and effective operations.
- Remain an active member of the Aviation Incident Management Team.
- Participate in departmental projects and perform ancillary duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
- Participate in Occidental's Performance Management System by establishing annual S.M.A.R.T. goals and personal development objectives.

- Maintain full compliance with all regulatory and Oxy training requirements.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Houston, Texas.
- Minimum of five (5) years of corporate/business aviation experience.
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Gulfstream G650 and/or G280 type rating.
- Meets the following minimum flight time requirements:
- 5,000 hours total flight time
- 3,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time
- 2,500 hours turbojet flight time
- 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command time in multiengine aircraft
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Restricted FCC Radio Telephone Operator Permit.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid passport with no travel restrictions.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
