Position SummaryThe Prevention & Outreach Specialist supports statewide sexual violence prevention by providing training, technical assistance, outreach, and resource development for rape crisis centers, prevention educators and community partners. Through collaboration, education, and project coordination, this position helps strengthen prevention initiatives, develops practical tools and learning opportunities, and fosters collaborative relationships to strengthen evidence-informed, community-centered approaches to preventing sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. General Duties
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThere are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. QualificationsStrong writing, editing, presentation, and training facilitation skills. Experience developing and/or facilitating trainings or educational programming required. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and use standard technology and software for communication, presentations, training, and documentation. Ability to travel statewide, including occasional overnight and weekend travel. Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in human services, criminal justice, or liberal arts discipline with concentration in social work, public health, sociology, psychology, gender studies, or related field from college or university; and at least two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Ability to interpret bar and line graph data. Reasoning AbilityAbility to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. RequirementsAvailability to travel statewide, including occasional overnight and weekend travel, for trainings, meetings, conferences, technical assistance, monitoring, and other program activities. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, required automobile insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle (or the ability to legally operate a corporate vehicle).
