Description

The Quality Control Inspector I examines incoming and outgoing parts and supplies to ensure they meet manufacturing standards.

  • Inspect products using gauges, coordinate measuring machine, scales, oscilloscope and vision prior to shipment.
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection
  • Reconcile and file final inspection documentation for shipments
  • Interact with source inspector as needed

  • Able to learn to use and read a tape measure.
  • Able to learn to use and read micrometers, caliper, and use calibration gauges.
  • Able to learn to use and read additional measuring tools.

  • Learn how to communicate with quality, manufacturing, and engineering to solve problems.
  • Learn how to organize a demanding workload to ensure all products leaving the facility have been properly inspected and are of the highest quality.
  • Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while performing inspections and audits.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate measuring instruments, gauges, testing equipment, and computer systems.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb as necessary to inspect materials, components, and finished products.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or lifting equipment.
  • Ability to inspect products and materials in various positions, including floor level, elevated surfaces, and confined work areas.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, markings, weld quality indicators, and other visual characteristics required for inspection activities.
  • Ability to maintain visual acuity sufficient to read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, measuring instruments, inspection reports, and computer screens.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms while conducting inspections and documenting findings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, engineers, and customers regarding quality-related issues.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, gloves, steel-toed footwear, and other safety equipment as required.
