Job Description:

As a privately-owned, biopharmaceutical company, Ferring pioneers and delivers life-changing therapies that help people build families and live better lives. Our independence helps us cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and long-term perspective that enables us to achieve growth and scale, while remaining agile and true to our 'people first' philosophy. Built on a 70-year plus commitment to science and research, Ferring is relentless in its pursuit of science that drives powerful discoveries and therapies to help people build families, stay healthy, and stand up to the world's oldest enemy: disease.

At Ferring, our patient access organization has one clear mission: helping more patients get to therapy. That means identifying where access breaks down, removing barriers, and making the journey easier for patients and providers to navigate.

The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) is a field-based access and reimbursement expert responsible for supporting patient access within the Uro-Oncology therapeutic area, with the potential to support additional products over time.

The FRM will develop and execute account-specific access strategies across an assigned geographic region, partnering with providers, office staff, health systems, and other key stakeholders to identify and address barriers that may delay or prevent patients from accessing therapy. This role requires a strong understanding of payer policies, buy-and-bill reimbursement, coding and billing, prior authorization, appeals, and other reimbursement requirements that can affect patient access to treatment.

Working closely with Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, and other cross-functional partners, the FRM will serve as a critical connection between field execution and the broader patient access organization. The FRM will educate customers on reimbursement processes and available support resources, identify emerging access trends and barriers, and help drive solutions that improve the customer and patient experience.

The FRM will also provide patient-specific reimbursement support, including assistance with prior authorization and appeals processes, while maintaining strict compliance with all applicable policies and requirements related to protected health information (PHI). This is your opportunity to play an important role in helping patients access an innovative oncology therapy and overcoming the barriers that can delay or prevent treatment.

With Ferring, you will be joining a recognized leader, identified as one of "The World's Most Innovative Companies" by Fast Company, and honored by Fortune with inclusion on its "Change the World List," for addressing society's unmet needs. Ferring US is also Great Places to Work Certified, distinguishing it as one of the best companies to work for in the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key field-based access and reimbursement resource, providing in-person and virtual support to healthcare providers and their staff and helping guide the patient access journey from treatment decision through reimbursement.
  • Maintain deep expertise in payer systems, reimbursement processes, healthcare regulations, coding and billing requirements, and site-of-care considerations across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Provide education to healthcare provider office staff on coverage, prior authorization, coding and billing requirements, specialty pharmacy and buy-and-bill fulfillment pathways, and appeals processes to support patient access and reimbursement success.
  • Review relevant clinical and reimbursement information, interpret payer policies, and support healthcare provider offices in navigating prior authorizations, formulary exceptions, appeals, and other complex coverage challenges.
  • Serve as the payer and reimbursement expert for the designated geography, proactively identifying and communicating changes in coverage, policy, and access requirements to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Educate healthcare provider offices on available patient access programs, support services, and resources.
  • Collaborate closely with Patient Services, Sales, Market Access, and other cross-functional partners to address customer needs, resolve access barriers, and support a seamless patient and customer experience.
  • Identify marketplace trends, bringing insights back to the organization to help improve programs, processes, and the patient access experience.
  • Proactively identify reimbursement barriers and develop customized solutions to support patient access.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant practice management experience preferred
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry experience, including reimbursement, patient access, or market access
  • 3+ years of experience in a Field Reimbursement Manager or similar field-based access role supporting buy-and-bill reimbursement; oncology experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payer systems, reimbursement processes, coding and billing, prior authorization, appeals, and site-of-care dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex access challenges, build strong customer relationships, and work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 65% and maintain a valid driver's license
