Your Role

As a GenslerTechnical Designer, you will collaborate with talented designers who help shape the future of the built environment. You will contribute to all phases of design, including concept development, construction documentation, and construction administration. We are looking for team members who pair creativity with strong technical expertiseand who are committed to guiding clients as they evolve and grow their brands.

Within Gensler's team inCharlotte,you will help deliverworld classretail environments by integrating design excellence, technical rigor, and strategic thinking that is both deeply functional and experientially rich. You will work with a multidisciplinary team from concept through completionto deliver quality project work as asteward of Gensler's commitment to quality, innovation, and impact.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with a team of Architects and Interior Designers that bring design dreams to lifethrough innovativeproblem solving and design best practices
  • Produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members to ensure success
  • Design and deliver functional and beautiful spacesfor our clients
  • Develop drawings, details, and diagrams using Revit, and other toolsas needed
  • Support all phases of the design project from conceptual/schematic design through construction administration
  • Support coordinationwithconsultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, andmaintainquality control during construction
  • Utilize handdrawingsand 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecturefrom an accredited program
  • 3-6years ofrelevantexperiencewithin a commercial design firm
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniquesis preferred
  • Experiencewith all phases of the design process from schematic design throughconstruction administration, andfield observationis preferred
  • StrongproficiencywithRevit(required)
  • ProficiencywithSketchUp,Enscape, orother 3D modeling software, and the Adobe CreativeSuite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)ispreferred
  • Strongverbal and writtencommunication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment toresilienceandsustainable building practices
