- Laboratory Operations & Technical Testing
* Execute laboratory experiments, product evaluations, application testing, and standardized test methods * Mix and test products designed by the Application Technology team, including sample preparation, prototypes, trial batches, and customer-specific formulations * Maintain accurate documentation of all test procedures, summarize lab results, and report experimental findings under supervision * Conduct physical testing to support customer requests, AD Manager programs, and product troubleshooting activities * Perform quality testing for Wood Fiber products and support Chardon plant chemist as needed * Assist with creation and upkeep of test methods, TDS, SDS, ISO documents, and technical documents for the Application Technology Laboratory under supervision - Product Development & AD Support
* Conduct lab and pilotscale trials for development programs * Support AD Managers with lab work and documentation * Assist in technology transfer activities * Support global AD projects for the NORAM region * Provide raw material evaluation and support - Plant Trials & Manufacturing Collaboration
* Support pilot, production, and customer plant trials * Prepare materials, collect trial data, and coordinate with production * Document trial outcomes and provide insights - Internal Collaboration & Technical Communication
* Work closely with the Head of Applications - Americas to prioritize work and align laboratory activities with regional technical needs * Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality * Support and participate in internal technical, safety, quality, and process training programs * Generate technical reports and communicate laboratory findings clearly, both orally and in writing - Quality, Regulatory, HSE & Compliance
* Maintain safe, productive, and environmentally acceptable working conditions in the laboratory area * Adhere to all plant and laboratory safety rules, policies, standard operating procedures, and HSE requirements * Conduct quality testing for raw materials and product consistency * Maintain compliance with regulatory, ISO, documentation, and laboratory standards - Equipment, Inventory & Lab Maintenance
* Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation software, and related systems in good working order * Recommend and help implement improvements to maintain standards of accuracy, reliability, safety, and productivity * Manage lab consumables and inventory * Maintain an organized, audited lab environment
Experience / Skills
- Minimum of a BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- 3-5 years of experience in a lab environment
- Hands-on technical capability with polymer-related weighing, mixing, compounding, and testing equipment, supported by familiarity with laboratory instrumentation software, IT systems, and data capture tools used for testing and reporting
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to support outside customer interactions under supervision
- Demonstrated interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently while supporting multiple concurrent projects
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO 9001, safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices is desired
