The Development Assistant will perform administrative duties and tasks, reflecting substantial variety and complexity, in the Office of Advancement.

*This is a term limited position that is currently funded through June 30th 2029. The position will be reviewed by January 2029 to assess financial sustainability. If your term of employment will be concluded based on a lack of funding, you will be provided 30 days notice of the termination of the term of employment in writing by the University.

Development Assistant
What you will do:
* Provides general office support including but not limited to catering orders, organization of office and donor events, purchasing donor flowers/gifts, printing support, receipts, reservations, and facilitating guest parking.
* Performs research and updates, fund and EID look-up support in Salesforce (CU Ascend) for Advancement staff.
* Serves as a data and records management resource as it relates to Advancement - understanding the data platforms, information stored and appropriate tools to access requested information.
* Serves as primary point of contact and day to day operations for gift handling, accepting donations, creating accurate records and ensuring timely delivery to the Gift Processing unit at the CU Foundation.
* Provides backup front desk coverage and presence to greet, direct, and address questions and concerns of visitors in person, as well as via phone and email.
* Manages general triage for the Advancement and DA Support email accounts, sorting and distributing mail, scheduling conference rooms, and facilitating meeting setup.
* Acts as liaison between the CU Foundation, CU System, and CU Denver campus partners regarding questions, research information, reports, and operations.
* Supports team with event bios and briefings for personal meetings, prospect lists, and analyses as needed.
* Supports certain events as assigned including but not limited to mailing, packaging, event assembly, prep, and take down.
* Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of communal office space including lobby and kitchen; keeps inventory on office supplies, external communication documents, and swag.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
* Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
Substitution: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
* Experience with data management and/or data research.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel and CRM database.
* Professional experience working in non-profit, events, and/or development/fundraising.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Outstanding customer service skills.
* Proficiency and familiarity with Advance, Salesforce, or similar databases.
* Proficiency in pulling, extracting, and organizing intricate data reports.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to utilize internet navigation and research tools (e.g., online, printed, etc.)

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
* Ability to conceptualize and utilize data.
* Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of access and engagement with a commitment to developing equitable practices.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, manage time and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet navigation tools with proven knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, email, and internet access software.

Conditions of Employment
* Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required for Advancement events.
* This position requires an in-office presence (3 days a week) but does provide flexibility with a hybrid accommodation for remote work at the discretion of the unit.
* Requires valid driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $50,381 - $55,684.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
