Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Faculty rank is determined at the end of the interview process based on a comprehensive review of candidate qualifications and experience compared to established College of Nursing faculty criteria. This is an open rank faculty appointment and could be categorized as Assistant Professor of Clinical Teaching, Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching, or Professor of Clinical Teaching based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor of Clinical Teaching: * An earned doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, education, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education and in accordance with Board of Nursing requirements. * A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Teaching in the Clinical Series: Clinical Teaching Track. * Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). * Minimum of two (2) years experience managing simulation operations, supervising personnel, and supporting simulation-based education. * Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado. Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching: * An earned doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, education, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education and in accordance with Board of Nursing requirements. * A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching in the Clinical Series: Clinical Teaching Track. o Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching include recognition as an expert teacher and sustained commitment to a program of scholarship. * Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). * Minimum of two (2) years experience managing simulation operations, supervising personnel, and supporting simulation-based education. * Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado. Professor of Clinical Teaching: * An earned doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, education, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education and in accordance with Board of Nursing requirements. * A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Professor of Clinical Teaching in the Clinical Series: Clinical Teaching Track. o Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Professor of Clinical Teaching include recognition as a master teacher, sustained leadership in teaching, expertise in curriculum development and teaching innovations, and a sustained commitment to peer reviewed scholarly work. * Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). * Minimum of two (2) years experience managing simulation operations, supervising personnel, and supporting simulation-based education. * Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado. Preferred Qualifications: * Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Advanced (CHSE-A) * Experience with maintaining strict adherence to accreditation and/or regulatory compliance. * Experience managing budgets and/or operational resources. * Experience leading quality improvement initiatives. * Experience implementing simulation technologies and educational innovation. * Experience with faculty development * Experience with curriculum integration. * Beginning record of scholarship, presentations, or professional leadership related to simulation, clinical education, or experiential learning. Competencies: * Demonstrated leadership, personnel management, and team development skills. * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. * Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills. * Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. * Ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external partners. * Proficiency with simulation technologies, educational technologies, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with professionalism and integrity. * Ability to provide effective leadership to achieve strategic objectives.
