Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Calpine Community Energy has partnered with Community Choice Aggregators (CCA) in California to provide communities with a choice to purchase cleaner energy at competitive rates. CCAs procure renewable sources of electricity for their customers and utilize the power lines, owned by the local utility, to distribute this renewable energy. Calpine Community Energy provides CCAs with data management, billing, account, rate implementation, and contact center services, which are operationally critical to their success.
Job Responsibilities
* Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support business decision-making.
* Develop complex data models and perform advanced data transformation, manipulation, and analysis using Power BI tools such as DAX, Power Query, SQL, and related technologies.
* Consolidate, integrate, and transform data from diverse sources, including databases, Excel files, text files, web APIs, and other enterprise systems.
* Design and maintain relational and dimensional database models to support reporting and analytics requirements.
* Build, maintain, and optimize ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other data integration tools.
* Develop scalable data solutions and data delivery mechanisms utilizing APIs and modern integration technologies.
* Perform data validation, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
* Optimize queries, reports, and data processing workflows to improve system performance, scalability, and efficiency.
* Participate in DevOps and CI/CD processes, including deployment automation, version control, testing, and release management activities.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, including data models, process workflows, test plans, test cases, use cases, system configurations, and support procedures.
* Provide production support, troubleshoot application issues, and respond to user questions following implementation.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Maintain effective communication with management, project teams, and end users throughout the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities, data processes, and application performance.
Job Requirements
Education
* Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or another technical/science-related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience.
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and semantic data models.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience with DAX, Power Query, Data Flows, T-SQL, and SSIS.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in API development and integration.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.
* Experience with database design, data modeling, and data warehouse concepts.
* Proven experience designing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server environments supporting large data volumes and/or enterprise data warehouses.
* Experience integrating and transforming data from multiple data sources, including databases, APIs, spreadsheets, and flat files.

Salary Range
$84,246.70 to $124,263.82
