Fabricator/Fitter $2,500 Sign-on Bonus 2nd & 3rd shifts available Earn 15% more by working on 2nd/3rd shift Weekly Pay Overview Greiner Industries is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in structural and sheet metal fabrication/welding, including work with structural members, heavy welding and tubing. This role will primarily involve fabrication work, including utilizing blueprints, reading tape measures, and working at heights on platform ladders and scissor lifts. Duties & Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, shop sketches, and work orders. Lay out, fit, position, align, and assemble structural steel components, plate assemblies, and fabricated products. Perform FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and other approved welding processes in accordance with applicable welding procedures. Complete tack welding, finish welding, multi-pass welding, in-position welding, and uphill welding as required. Fabricate and weld columns, beams, girders, trusses, tanks, hoppers, ductwork, platforms, stairs, railings, and other steel structures. Operate fabrication equipment including shears, brake presses, plate rolls, drill presses, ironworkers, grinders, and flame-cutting equipment. Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, beveling, fitting, and preheating materials when required. Verify dimensions, fit-up, and tolerances using measuring tapes, squares, levels, gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Use jigs, templates, fixtures, clamps, wedges, and alignment devices to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication. Inspect welds for quality, penetration, appearance, and compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Grind, chip, gouge, buff, and finish welds to required project specifications.
