JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Athletic Services Specialist provide support, coordination, facilitation, and/or leadership for intercollegiate athletic activities and facilities; assist with the planning and execution of gameday operation activities; departmental social media content, statistics, departmental communications, and working with and coordinating student worker help.

Job Duties
  • Support and/or manage the daily operations of athletic facilities and/or intercollegiate athletic activities.
  • Assist from the beginning to end of game day operations for six intercollegiate sports including set up, safety coordination, athletic training needs, broadcast production, statistical intake, game day workers, and facility operations.
  • Help in the planning and execution of intercollegiate team related needs from coordinating practice times, facility usage, travel, and bus coordination, etc.
  • Serve as point of contact for visiting teams and game day officials in terms of pre-game communication.
  • Assist with departmental social media strategy and planning helping promote events.
  • Develop a fan engagement strategy to increase interest and build the reputation of GA Athletics.
  • Seek new and innovative ways with the support of the Director of Athletics to identify and secure new departmental revenue streams through sponsorships, events, and fundraising.
  • Assist with departmental and game day communications including game day programs, signage, pre and post-game wrap ups.
  • Coordinate student workers to assist with game day activities.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of athletic facilities and/or activities.
  • May participate in the recruitment and retention of student athletes.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
