Facility Operations.

Job Description

Nature and Level of Work:

Operate Small to medium size motor vehicles and performance of routine duties which may require manual labor. Work is reviewed by observation for efficiency, safety and overall results. Functional contacts include co-workers, other service department employees and other university staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver, transport, pick up and dispose of materials. Carry, load and unload materials as required. May be required to operate mechanical or hydraulic vehicle attachments to accomplish assignments. May occasionally be required to operate larger vehicles such as buses or large trucks. Perform routine driver maintenance including observation and reporting of vehicle defects.
* May be required to assist in cleaning work area upon completion of a job.
* Help maintain dumpster areas.
* Gather pallets around campus.
* Pull trash in approximately 200 trash cans.
* Check balers and pull full bails.
* Help sort paper and cardboard and make bales.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift

4:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

* A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Ability to read and write.
* One year experience in driving appropriate size vehicle.
* Skill in the safe and efficient operation of appropriate size vehicle.
* Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of motor vehicles.
* Ability on a daily basis to lift moderately heavy objects (25-50 lbs.)
* A valid state driver's license is required.
* Drivers, who operate buses or large trucks, are required to have a valid "Class E" Commercial Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver's license which will allow the legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri is required.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $16.00 - $18.50 hourly

Grade: GGS-C
