Summary: The SharePoint Technical SME provides enterprise technical expertise in the design, development, configuration, integration, and sustainment of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions supporting the National Guard Enterprise (NGE) Knowledge Management ecosystem. This role translates KM requirements, information architecture, governance standards, taxonomy, metadata, and lifecycle requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Design, develop, configure, test, and sustain enterprise SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions supporting KM objectives.
- Develop and maintain scalable SharePoint site architectures, enterprise site structures, lists, libraries, content types, metadata, taxonomy, and permissions.
- Translate KM business requirements and knowledge flow needs into technical SharePoint and workflow solutions.
- Design and implement Microsoft Power Platform solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI to improve knowledge flow, governance, reporting, and lifecycle compliance.
- Develop workflow automation and technical solutions that support content management, approvals, governance actions, and knowledge lifecycle processes.
- Prototype, test, evaluate, and implement reusable technical solutions designed for enterprise-wide adoption.
- Support the development and maintenance of SharePoint governance documentation, technical standards, configuration documentation, and solution designs.
- Evaluate existing SharePoint architectures and recommend improvements to enhance usability, scalability, security, performance, and KM alignment.
- Support secure SharePoint and Microsoft 365 configurations across NIPR and SIPR environments, as applicable.
- Collaborate with KM Analysts/SMEs to translate taxonomy, metadata, information architecture, governance, and lifecycle requirements into technical implementations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting SharePoint sites, workflows, applications, permissions, and other KM-enabled solutions.
- Support solution testing, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 architecture, configuration, development, and administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of enterprise information architecture, metadata, taxonomy, content types, and SharePoint governance.
- Ability to translate business and KM requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of demonstrated experience designing, building, and sustaining enterprise-level solutions within SharePoint Online/Microsoft 365.
- Minimum five years of experience with SharePoint Online architecture, enterprise site structures, metadata, taxonomy, content types, and governance.
- Minimum three years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Power BI.
- Experience developing workflow automation, solution prototypes, and reusable enterprise solutions.
- Experience with solution testing, development, deployment, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Experience translating business and KM requirements into SharePoint and workflow solutions.
- Experience supporting secure SharePoint/Microsoft 365 configurations across NIPR/SIPR environments, as applicable.
- Must have Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in or a related field.
