| Primary Purpose of Position |
This role will be to ensure clinical flow is maintained from scheduling, patient intake paperwork, vitals, to exam room hygiene, and scheduling support. |
| Minimum Qualifications |
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work and registered as a Nurse Aide by the North Carolina Board of Nursing or currently in a Nurse Aid Program. |
| License/Certification Required |
Special Condition for Continued Employment - Registration as a Nurse Aide by the North Carolina Board of Nursing within four months of employment. |
| Essential Job Functions |
- Greet patients, families, and visitors
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages to appropriate staff
- Schedule and confirm appointments for evaluations, follow-ups, and therapy sessions
- Check in and check out patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Collect and process payments, co-pays, and other documentation as needed
- Maintain the waiting area in a clean and family-friendly condition
- Assist with intake paperwork and provide basic information about clinic services
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and appointment logistics
- Obtain vitals on patients including height, weight, O2, and head circumference

| Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
- Working knowledge of customer service practices and administrative support functions, with the ability to effectively support patients, families, and healthcare staff in a medical or pediatric environment, obtained through 1 year of experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment with sensitivity and professionalism
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working in pediatric clinics, therapy offices, or developmental programs
- Familiarity with insurance verification and patient billing processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Compassion for working with families navigating developmental and medical concerns
- Bilingual (Spanish)

Technical Knowledge Full knowledge of appropriate patient care techniques and procedures. Full knowledge of standard procedures and practices of Medical Assisting.
Communication
Ability to communicate information in a concise and descriptive manner. Ability to use interview techniques that assist the patient in describing their symptoms and assist in discerning the situation. Knowledge of communication techniques.

Ability to anticipate patient needs. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with patients and their families by listening, understanding and responding to identified needs. |
