What to Expect
As a Sr. Fire Protection Superintendent at Tesla, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction installation, commissioning, and ongoing ownership of fire protection systems (detection, notification, clean agent releasing, and related life-safety systems across Tesla's manufacturing facilities. You will serve as the primary coordinator of field operations, working cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
What You'll Do
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of Fire Protection Scopes for work, specifically Fire Alarm Systems (Notifier experience strongly preferred), VESDA, Programming, Fire Protection Special Hazard systems, Agent Releasing systems, Pre-Action Systems, Deluge Systems)
- Direct field work, track construction changes, trade clashes. and provide leadership within project teams
- Develop and manage project schedules, identifying critical paths and addressing any roadblocks
- Ensure installations meet end-user requirements and adhere to quality standards
- Own strategy, standards, specifications, and site scope execution for installation of fire alarm and special hazards systems related detection/notification systems and clean agent release and commissioning
- Work closely with engineering and design teams to resolve design issues promptly and driving solutions
- Manage vendors and subcontractors through RFP (request for proposal), RFIs, field inspections, and quality assurance
What You'll Bring
- Ideally, 7+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects
- Proven ownership of projects from kickoff through construction, commissioning, acceptance, and operational handover
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with stakeholders
- Proficiency in construction management software (Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of construction design documents and ability to provide constructability feedback prior to and during construction
- Familiar with fire protection systems and fire smoke detection systems
- Strong project supervision and management, documentation, and problem-solving skills; comfortable with fast-paced, multi-site priorities
