Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a temporary, full-time engineering intern to join our Food & Beverage group starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August/September 2027.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting engineers with mechanical design for large-scale food and beverage facilities
  • Performing design calculations; developing engineering design tools
  • Assisting with project report preparation
  • Performing field inspections
  • Additional duties as assigned

Some travel to job sites may be required.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Four semesters of college-level coursework in mechanical engineering
  • Mechanical design coursework in thermodynamics, refrigeration, and/or HVAC
  • Experience in the design or construction industry
  • Experience with HVAC load fundamentals
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software

Physical Abilities:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Hourly Rate Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
