This position is ideal for a confident, hands-on project manager who is skilled at influencing cross-functional teams, improving communication, and maintaining momentum in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate customer programs and production projects from order intake through manufacturing and final product delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, production priorities, timelines, action items, and status updates.
  • Monitor work as it moves through CNC machining, inspection, secondary operations, assembly, cleaning, passivation, outside processing, and final delivery.
  • Partner with production scheduling and department leaders to align resources and priorities.
  • Identify bottlenecks, stalled production orders, quality concerns, and dependencies that may place delivery commitments at risk.
  • Ensure issues are assigned to the appropriate owner and actively follow through until resolution.
  • Facilitate communication across operational departments that may have competing priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional follow-up while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Recommend practical process improvements that strengthen workflow, visibility, accountability, and execution.
  • Assist with process mapping, documentation, and the establishment of consistent project management practices.
  • Provide timely updates regarding progress, risks, delays, decisions, and required actions.
  • Communicate effectively with department leaders, program managers, local HR, and executive leadership.
  • Attend daily production meetings and translate operational discussions into clear actions and ownership.
  • Provide leadership with reliable visibility into production activity, particularly when senior leaders are traveling or unavailable.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated project management experience involving multiple departments, stakeholders, and competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initiation through execution and completion.
  • Experience identifying operational obstacles and driving issues to resolution.
  • Ability to influence teams and create accountability without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Ability to translate operational information into clear project updates, risks, recommendations, and next steps.
  • Confidence presenting recommendations and constructively challenging existing processes.
  • Ability to work fully onsite in the Mooresville, North Carolina area.
  • Availability to begin the workday at 7:00 a.m. and attend a daily 7:15 a.m. production meeting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience in manufacturing, production, operations, supply chain, or another physical-product environment.
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, automotive, metal fabrication, machining, or another quality-controlled manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, production scheduling, quality inspection, secondary operations, assembly, and outside processing.
  • Experience with process mapping, continuous improvement, change management, or organizational development.
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership.
  • Experience with the Visual manufacturing or ERP system.
  • PMP certification or another recognized project management credential.
  • Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments.
