Seattle Childrens Hospital and the Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric General Surgery at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor without tenure (WOT), by reason of funding with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The successful candidate will be expected to support the department's commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month appointment (3-year term renewable for Assistant Professor) beginning January 2027. The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor $35,417-$39,584 ($425,004 - $475,008 annually); Associate Professor $41,667-$50,000 ($500,004 - $600,000 annually); Professor $52,084-$56,250 ($625,008 - $675,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through CUMG. The successful candidate will provide the full spectrum of general and thoracic pediatric surgical care, with a particular focus on pediatric bariatric and metabolic surgery. Seattle Childrens Hospital has established a comprehensive obesity management center, with bariatric surgery serving as a major component of this multidisciplinary program. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the continued development and growth of the surgical program and collaborate closely with specialists across the obesity management center. The primary site of practice will be Seattle Childrens Hospital, with opportunities to participate at other sites consistent with regional affiliations and institutional strategy. The Division of Pediatric General Surgery includes 16 board-certified pediatric surgeons and supports a busy tertiary and quaternary care practice, as well as regional clinics. The successful candidate will participate in the clinical, educational, and academic missions of the division, including the selection, teaching, and training of residents and fellows. As a member of the University of Washington faculty, the candidate will engage in teaching, research, and service, with opportunities for scholarly activity, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
