The Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac Catheter Lab Call Team Specialist role leads specialized nursing care within the cardiac catheterization setting. Operating as part of an on-call team, this position partners closely with the healthcare team to provide advanced patient care during cardiac procedures, ensuring precision and adherence to established protocols.

Essential Job Function:

  • Reviews assessments of patients' medical history and current condition to verify that the correct cardiac catheterization procedures have been applied.
  • Operates specialized equipment and monitors patients during procedures, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Administers medications and maintains accurate documentation of patients' responses and procedural details.
  • Partners closely with the healthcare team, including physicians and technologists, to ensure smooth and successful procedures.
  • Adheres to universal precautions and utilizes personal protective equipment to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Provides patient education and support before, during, and after cardiac Cath Lab procedures.
  • Adheres to professional advancement program requirements, engages in ongoing education, and mentors others to promote professional growth and development to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field, leading to improved patient care and clinical expertise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Hospital Administration, or another Allied Health Curriculum.

Experience:

  • Required: 4 Years RN experience in a Cath Lab.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

  • Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state; RCIS; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; ACLS.
