We are looking for Recreational Activity Aides that:

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge offers a healing environment to reassure patients' sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder (drug and alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a five-day per week basis, days and evenings. Care is provided according to an established code of ethical conduct and strict adherence to patient rights.

Position Summary:

The Activity Aide is responsible for implementing various aspects of the recreational therapy program based upon each unit needs and patient demographics. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.

JobDuties Include:

  • Assistin organizing recreational therapy sessions to interact with patients and offer recommendations for physical and mental wellness.
  • Assistinmaintaininghigh quality documentation of all therapy services consistent with thehospitals' policies.
  • Assistin ensuring treatment plans are suitable for patients' physical condition and arein accordance withthe hospital policies and the patients' preferences.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Some college course work preferred.

Experience

  • Experience may be accepted in lieu of college course work.

Other Skills

  • Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health and disease concepts including the disease of addiction.
  • Must have clear communication / interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psycho-education groups.
