Aquent is partnering with a global leader in technology, renowned for pushing the boundaries of innovation and infrastructure. Join a team at the forefront of building and scaling the digital world, where your expertise will directly contribute to the foundational technology that powers millions of users worldwide.

Are you a hands-on engineering visionary passionate about the physical architecture of data centers? We're seeking a talented individual to dive deep into the design and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in optimizing performance and reliability. In this dynamic position, you'll have the unique opportunity to directly shape the physical backbone of cutting-edge data environments, ensuring seamless operation and innovative solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in bridging complex engineering concepts with tangible, real-world deployments and directly impacting the scalability and efficiency of global operations.

What You'll Do

This is more than just a design role; it's an opportunity to be at the heart of physical infrastructure development. You will be instrumental in designing efficient and robust data center layouts, swiftly resolving complex integration challenges, and acting as a critical bridge between diverse engineering disciplines. Your work will directly enable the scalable and reliable operation of our client's advanced technology platforms, solving real-world infrastructure puzzles that keep the digital world running.

  • Independently draft and modify detailed floor-level and rack-level CAD layouts, demonstrating expert proficiency with standard commands for direct design execution.
  • Apply a deep, practical understanding of physical data center power and cooling systems, including power distribution methodologies (e.g., busways, whips, or rPDUs) and their underlying electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Perform direct, floor-level engineering troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve design anomalies and physical integration issues.
  • Generate preliminary layout designs autonomously, translating complex requirements into actionable infrastructure plans.
  • Act as a critical liaison, fostering seamless communication and collaboration between facilities, power/cooling teams, and physical cabling infrastructure stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional hands-on proficiency in CAD software, with a proven ability to independently draft and modify complex floor-level and rack-level layouts without reliance on external support.
  • Demonstrated expertise in physical data center infrastructure, encompassing a deep, practical understanding of power distribution (e.g., busways, whips, or rPDUs) and cooling systems at a fundamental electrical and mechanical level.
  • Proven experience in direct, floor-level engineering troubleshooting of design anomalies and physical integration challenges.
  • Ability to independently generate preliminary layout designs and resolve intricate physical integration inquiries with a proactive approach.
  • A strong technical integration mindset, serving as a vital link between facilities, power/cooling, and physical cabling infrastructure. This role requires hands-on engineering and problem-solving, rather than primarily managing project financials or schedules.
