Position Summary

The analyst supporting costing analytics will work closely with the Manager of Loan Pricing Analytics & Cost Manager to analyze costs & expenses and how they contribute to organization, product, and customer profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer shared service expense allocations of each bank shared service to revenue-generating lines of business.

  • Implement, support and maintain costing software

  • Develop account and transaction level unit costing to support the bank's account profitability system.

  • Incorporate unit costing into the bank's Relationship Profitability Model

  • Analyze and report allocation impacts on organizational and account profitability.

  • Ad-hoc expense analysis and reporting for a variety of slices of data - e.g. product, officer, relationship, etc.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial report and/or legal documents.

  • Ability to write business correspondence, routine reports, and procedures.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and small groups.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.

  • Ability to query or collect data from a data warehouse or relationship database environment

  • Ability to create advanced Excel spreadsheets.

  • Ability to create Word and PowerPoint documents

  • Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred, and

  • Banking finance experience: 2/3+ year experience in costing, profitability or relevant management accounting emphasis

  • Comfort with technical and analytical aspects of cost allocation development and profitability analysis

  • Understanding of account profitability methodologies

  • Computer Skills

    • MS Office programs

    • Power BI or other dashboard experience

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • none

  • Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with IT systems and processes

  • Collaborative mind-set with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with Axiom Financial Institutions Suite software
