Job Summary: The Home Energy Specialist is responsible for helping homeowners become more energy efficient by performing Mass Save Home Energy Assessments. This role will be modeling homes in energy efficiency software, diagnosing energy usage problems and recommending energy saving measures such as insulation, and high efficiency heating and cooling. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Energy Assessment: Conduct Mass Save home energy assessments. Utilize energy efficiency software to model homes and generate comprehensive energy savings reports. Recommend energy-saving measures such as insulation, LED lighting, and high-efficiency HVAC systems. Sales and Customer Service: Initiate sale and secure service contracts. Provide exceptional customer service and educate homeowners on energy efficiency benefits. Use effective sales techniques to ensure customer satisfaction and generate referrals. Organize and guide customer through paperwork processes. Installation and Documentation: Install energy-saving products during assessments, including thermostats, water saving devices, and power strips. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly. Professional Development and Collaboration: Continually improve product knowledge and sales skills through ongoing learning, including staying informed on the latest energy-saving options and technologies. Collaborate with internal divisions to cross-sell products and services. Perform additional tasks as required. Education & Experience: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Valid MA driver's license and reliable transportation for travel required. BPI Certification. Previous customer service and sales experience preferred. MASS Save program knowledge a plus. Basic computer skills required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and time management skills. Must work independently as the role is primarily field based. Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills. Outgoing, flexible, and personable demeanor. Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Supervisory Responsibilities: This is an individual contributor position with no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Customer settings: This position is based in customer settings and will require work in and out of doors, including in attics, basements, small-confined spaces, and rooftops. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces. The employee may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, and must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, stand on roofs, and move up and down stairs safely.
