Pepper's corporate office is looking for an Accountant to join our growing accounting team based in our Barrington, IL office.

What You'll Do



This role is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the growing Pepper construction corporate accounting team. This position will have responsibilities conducting accounting for multiple operating entities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Record fixed asset purchases, disposals and depreciation calculations and conduct annual fixed asset audit.
  • Prepare and review journal entries.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Understand and apply all necessary accounting guidance, laws and/or contract terms as applicable to processing of accounting and financial transactions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial reporting
  • Participate in the year-end audit process
  • Special projects and analysis as needed



What We're Looking For




  • Bachelors in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA seeking
  • 2+ years in a related environment
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and recommend solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • High level of technical fluency in Excel and various accounting systems, Workday Adaptive experience a plus

The annual salary midpoint for this role is $82,000. We consider many factors when determining the actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
