Description and Requirements

We are looking for a System Performance Validation (SPV) Engineer to support performance testing, analysis, and optimization of Lenovo server platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role with opportunities to develop experience in server system architecture, performance analysis, and platform optimization.

The engineer will work with system architects and cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate system performance, identify bottlenecks, and validate platform performance throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on setup, configuration, and testing of Lenovo server platforms.
  • Run performance benchmarks and workloads and analyze test results.
  • Support performance characterization and optimization across CPU, memory, storage, I/O, GPU, and other system components.
  • Investigate performance issues and assist with root-cause analysis and debugging.
  • Understand system architecture and evaluate how hardware topology, firmware settings, OS configuration, and system design affect overall performance.
  • Work with system architecture, UEFI, hardware, thermal, power, and OS teams to validate performance-related designs and configurations.
  • Support performance testing of new server technologies and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain performance test procedures, technical documentation, and best practices.
  • Work with senior engineers and architects on customer performance issues and platform optimization.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Good understanding of computer and server architecture fundamentals.
  • Strong interest in hands-on system testing, debugging, and performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with Linux and basic system administration.
  • Basic understanding of CPU, memory, PCIe, storage, networking, and GPU technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze technical data and troubleshoot system-level issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with server hardware, benchmarking, scripting, or performance analysis is a plus.
