Summary

The software Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for the manual testing and quality verification of proprietary Windows-based applications, embedded systems, and associated hardware. This role requires a self-motivated analyst who can efficiently execute test cases, collaborate on testing workflows, and manage multiple assigned projects. The ideal candidate possesses a strong working knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and will participate in verification and validation phases, including requirement reviews and manual test case development. While hands-on automated script development is not required, the analyst should be familiar with test automation frameworks and processes. Key responsibilities include reproducing field-reported issues in the lab, documenting software defects, and assisting with release verification. Additionally, you will collaborate with technical writers to facilitate product documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience: 2-4+ years of direct experience in a Software Quality Assurance environment, focusing on comprehensive testing methodologies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Test Execution & Design: Create and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases mapped directly to software requirements.
  • QA Best Practices: Follow full lifecycle testing methodologies based on an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Cross-Platform Testing: Perform end-to-end testing for web-based, client-server, and hardware-integrated software applications.

Technical & Platform Expertise

  • API Testing Tools: API endpoint verification using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Automation Awareness: Understanding of how automated frameworks utilize Selenium, Robot Framework, Python, and Jenkins within a continuous deployment environment.
  • Environment Mastery: Support testing across Windows platforms, IIS, Web Services, and the .NET Framework, utilizing foundational networking concepts.
  • Database Testing: Perform data verification using MS-SQL commands and basic queries.

Hardware Systems (Preferred)

  • System Troubleshooting: Apply a logical, methodical approach to diagnose issues across Windows PCs, Single Board Computers (SBCs), and Embedded boards.
  • Hardware Literacy: Basic knowledge of electronic hardware, electrical circuits, and AC/DC components is a plus.

Professional Skills

  • Documentation: Maintain rigorous, highly organized records, test logs, and bug-tracking metrics using Azure DevOps.
  • Communication: Partner effectively with cross-functional teams through clear verbal and written communication.
