Astrion has an exciting opportunity foran Engineering Technician IIIlocated at Redstone ArsenalinHuntsville, AL.Astrion has worked extensively with Redstone Arsenal where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • HS/GED 5 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 3 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:

Instrumentation - Experience must include successful completion of sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and a minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Exceptional customer relationship skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform testing primarily in the areas of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and System Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing of missile, ground, aviation, and sensor systems. EMC testing will comprise Noisefloor Measurements, Source/Victim, and Electrically Initiated Device (EID) testing IAW MIL-STD-464D.
  • Support for planning, conducting, and reporting on EMI/EMC testing
  • Assist senior technicians and engineers in performing testing to MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, and ADS-37A-PRF.
  • Operate various test equipment to include, mobile and base station radio communication systems, signal generators, function generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Operate data acquisition systems including in house test software.
  • Document test procedures, test methods, and test data.
  • Consolidate test data into formats required by the test engineer.
  • Work with the EMI/EMC Test team to ensure all customer schedules are met.
  • Participate in cross-functional training activities within the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Test division (E3) performing a variety of engineering technician tasks.
