Overview Job Title: Power Systems Engineer Location: Arnold AFB, TN Job Family Code: O-Engineering Function/Branch: Utilities Directorate: Asset Management Position Type: Regular Full-Time Pay Type: Exempt Grade: L06(OA0606)-L07 (OA0705) Salary Range or Starting Hourly Rate: L06: $80,000 - $96,000; L07: $81,000 - $108,500/ per year Overview Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Power Systems Engineer supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract, at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. The Power Systems Engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Open to internal and external candidates Job Summary We are seeking an Electrical Engineer in our Utilities branch responsible for the distribution of electrical power from the Tennessee Valley Authority to at least eight distribution substations to provide power to our test facilities and other infrastructure. Specifically, this individual would have responsibility for low voltage 480V and below. AEDC is a suite of ground test facilities providing simulated operating environments for air and space vehicles and sub system or scaled systems development and testing. While this position has some office work involved, the majority of the engineer's time is spent in the field or test area. Engineers who enjoy this type of work typically have some interest or experience with electrical systems such as motors, switch-gear, transfer switches, electrical distribution, generators, lighting systems, PLC controls, etc. which may come from a full time job or from working in aspects of electrical power, automobiles, farm equipment, or other machinery.
Job Duties:
Provide electrical system engineering for assigned systems within power control group. Provide support to ARC flash program as needed.
