Job Summary

The Phlebotomist will support daily Patient Service Center operations by performing phlebotomy collections for patients of all age groups, along with order entry and processing. The role requires strong blood-drawing skills, including the ability to perform collections using a straight needle.


Position Responsibilities


  • Perform blood draws and phlebotomy collections on patients of all age groups.



  • Perform venipuncture using straight needles and other appropriate collection methods.



  • Complete approximately 25-35 draws per day.



  • Perform order entry and processing accurately.



  • Follow proper procedures for patient identification and specimen collection.



  • Ensure accurate handling and processing of specimens.



  • Maintain accurate documentation and computer records.



  • Support daily workflow within the Patient Service Center.



  • Work effectively as part of a team.



  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.



  • Follow established safety and laboratory procedures.



  • Remain on your feet for most of the day when the location is busy.



  • Complete approximately 2 weeks of initial training.




Work Environment


  • Patient Service Center with 4 draw rooms.



  • Team of approximately 3.5 Phlebotomists.



  • Team-based work environment.



  • Approximately 25-35 patient draws per day.



  • No specialty requirements.



  • No travel required.




Minimum Qualifications


  • Phlebotomy experience.



  • Must be able to perform blood draws using a straight needle.



  • Comfortable performing collections on all age groups.



  • Computer literate.



  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.



  • Ability to remain standing for most of the workday when busy.



  • Strong attention to accuracy during order entry, processing, and specimen collection.



  • Self-starter who can support daily PSC operations.
