The BIM Modeling Engineer will support design coordination, constructability review, and field layout. This role bridges design and construction, developing and maintaining 3D/4D models that drive coordination, quantity takeoffs, and shop drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 3D building/civil information models from design drawings and survey data

  • Perform clash detection and coordinate model conflicts across disciplines (structural, civil, mechanical, electrical)

  • Support quantity takeoffs and cost estimating using model data

  • Maintain model version control and ensure alignment with current design revisions

  • Produce coordination drawings, sections, and visualizations to support field execution

  • Support as-built model development and project closeout documentation

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling, civil engineering, or construction technology role

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent BIM software

  • Experience with machine control/GPS grading systems (Trimble, Topcon, or similar) preferred

  • Working knowledge of civil site design, grading, and earthwork concepts

  • Experience supporting heavy civil, and infrastructure

  • Strong spatial reasoning and attention to detail in model accuracy

  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, survey, and field construction teams

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience with 4D scheduling integration

Working Conditions

  • Travel can be required with this position within the United States. This project is located in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.

  • Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.

  • Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.

  • Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.

  • Work is additionally done in an office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
