Department Paul Robeson Cultural Center
Overview
The Paul Robeson Cultural Center ( PRCC), is a community where all Rutgers students are invited participate in guided educational discourse, leadership development, and out of the classroom engagement that utilizes the African American experiences and that of the African diaspora as its foundation. The PRCC cultivates meaningful experiences, fosters positive relationships, and facilitates inclusive spaces where individuals are able to be their authentic-self.

Established in 1969 as The Black House, the center was dedicated in 1976 in the name of famed alumnus Paul Robeson, who was a pivotal figure in the Civil Rights Movement, distinguished performing artist, and an advocate for social justice at home and abroad. The PRCC is a vibrant hub of the Rutgers community that nurtures and celebrates the rich heritage of the African American experience.
