Senior Financial Analyst, Broadcast Operations
New York, NY
Schedule/Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Pay: $46.00 - $50.00 per hour

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst supports financial reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business management for broadcast operations. This role partners with business and production leaders to develop financial strategies, analyze business results, and provide clear financial insights to support decision-making. The position requires strong financial modeling and reporting skills, the ability to work with large datasets, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, creative production environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Own and maintain recurring financial reporting cycles across multiple broadcast programs.
  • Partner with finance and business leaders to evaluate and manage budgets.
  • Support the preparation, review, and consolidation of annual operating budgets and long-range financial plans.
  • Develop monthly forecasts and monitor financial performance against budget.
  • Analyze actual costs and prepare variance analysis and budget-to-actual commentary for leadership.
  • Track costs and budget performance at the story, segment, show, and portfolio levels.
  • Identify budget overruns and communicate financial risks to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support segment-level budgeting and financial planning.
  • Identify and correct miscoded expenses and maintain data integrity.
  • Build and maintain financial models, reports, and presentations.
  • Analyze large datasets and translate financial results into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Support the development and implementation of new financial reporting processes and systems.
  • Assist with financial system transformation and reporting improvements.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed.
  • Partner with executive producers and other stakeholders to help translate financial information into actionable business strategies.
  • Use appropriate technology and AI tools to improve analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum 4-5 years of related financial analysis experience.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate meaningful business insights.
  • Experience preparing financial reports, variance analysis, and budget-to-actual analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with finance, business, and creative stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems such as Oracle Fusion, SmartView, EDMCS, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Power BI experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI tools used for financial analysis and reporting preferred.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.


Work Experience



  • 4-5 years of financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or related experience required.
  • Media, entertainment, broadcast, or production industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting creative or production-focused organizations preferred.
  • Experience working directly with senior business or executive stakeholders preferred.
