Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Submit medical claims manually and electronically to government compensation payers.
• Examine and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Explanation of Payments (EOPs)
• Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and payment variances.
• Perform insurance follow up for outstanding claims and to ensure timely filing and reimbursement.
• Monitor account receivable aging reports to reducing outstanding medical claims and payment issues.
• Identify billing trends and communicate to leadership.
• Process claim reconciliation, adjustments and appeals as needed
• Verify timely, billing accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines and company policies.
• Maintain accurate patient and billing recording within the billing software.
• Collaborate with clinic, operations, and revenue cycle team to resolve medical billing issues.
• Support the month end report and revenue cycle performance metrics.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
• Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of medical billing, insurance claims experience.
• Experience working with a high volume of medical billing and claims.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPS coding
• Experience with medical billing software.
• Understanding medical billing regulation, payer contracts, and payer requirements.
• Strong analytical, attentive to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Ability to work independently.
