Networking Architect II - Route / Switch / Security

Location: Remote (Occasional Travel)

Compensation: Based on experience; up to $170K Base Salary + 15% Quarterly Bonus + Full Benefits Package

Position Summary

The Network Architect is responsible for the strategy, design, governance, and technical leadership of enterprise networking, security, data center, and cloud infrastructure solutions. This role provides architectural oversight for large-scale infrastructure initiatives, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

The architect serves as a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders, leading the development of target-state architectures, modernization roadmaps, cloud transformation initiatives, and enterprise-wide infrastructure standards.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

• Develop and maintain enterprise network, cloud, and infrastructure architecture standards.
• Define target-state architectures and strategic technology roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Lead architecture and design efforts across Cisco, Arista, and Aruba Networks.

Network Architecture

• Design and oversee enterprise-wide networking solutions, including large-scale SD-WAN deployments.
• Provide architectural governance for routing, switching, WAN, LAN, wireless, internet edge, and connectivity services.
• Develop network standards to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Lead network modernization and optimization efforts.

Security Architecture

• Develop secure-by-design infrastructure architectures.
• Define network and cloud security requirements, standards, and controls.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to reduce risk and maintain compliance requirements.
• Review and validate security considerations for enterprise projects and initiatives.

Data Center & Infrastructure Modernization

• Lead architecture efforts for data center transformation and migration initiatives.
• Develop infrastructure consolidation, modernization, and migration strategies.
• Provide oversight for disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency planning.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions support business growth and operational requirements.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance to engineering, operations, project management, and leadership teams.
• Review and approve infrastructure designs and technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and architects in architecture standards and best practices.
• Support complex customer and business engagements as a subject matter expert.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in enterprise networking, cloud infrastructure, and security architecture.
• Strong expertise with Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, and Fortinet platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise WAN, LAN, and SD-WAN environments.
• Deep understanding of routing, switching, network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking.
• Experience with data center modernization, cloud migrations, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and resiliency architectures.
• Experience with automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred certifications

• Certifications. Eg Cisco CCIE,CCNP, PAN Network Security Architect, Cortex XDR , HPE ACMX, ACMP, and or related Certificates
